Cash in Royally
I began wondering why I manage every dollar in business with detail and efficiency yet at times my personal spending habits are less than stellar. The culprit is plastic. The request to swipe with the stripe requires little to no thought and presents no immediate consequence. All too often, what should have been a $20 trip to wherever can end up a three bags full $100 event. These aren’t necessarily outlandish purchases but as a habit they lead to red, not green. Fed up with the situation, I embarked on a cash only diet. I put a set amount of bills into my wallet each week. Now I buy more thoughtfully and often have leftovers. I get to put my MomSpit to work cleaning up after handling all that change. My wallet is thicker. My purchases are smarter. Much to my surprise, I don’t feel restricted. I feel empowered. Put simply, cash is Queen. The only challenge for this newly-minted royal is not falling off her throne. If you’re looking for a personal diet where gaining is good, this is it.If your small business needs a financial tune up, visit Score. Ginger, Coach & MomSpit
I celebrated the launch of our new MomSpit Ginger & Oolong no-rinse cleanser by picking up a matching Coach bag from the outlet. I’m a factory girl whenever possible and Coach never disappoints. Okay, I’m a bag lady. There. I said it. Inside the bag with my MomSpit, I added a MAC SPF lip conditioner in clear. It’s also a long-lasting and amazing performer. I’m all over clean hands and smooth lips with this one. You should love the things you use every day. I’m happily armed and ready for my next outing. I’m going to rock that grocery store aisle. Whether you’re a busy Mom, business woman or both, the tools of your trade should be functional, fabulous and befitting of your personal style.

Anything but Ordinary
…So the song goes by Avril Lavigne, and it’s one of my favorites. It’s a big part of the theme behind our MomSpit products. But today is not about no-rinse cleanser, it’s about Rocklove Jewelry. I found this acorn when looking for a gift for my daughter. Her nickname has evolved over time from Peanut to NutNut to Nuttiest. The acorn was pure perfection and it’s beautiful. She hasn’t taken it off and gets compliments all the time. We are big fans of Allison Hourcade, the indie designer behind Rocklove. It’s always great to see creative talent merge with entrepreneurial guts. The customer service was exemplary and the product affordable and of the highest quality. I just had to return to pick up The Aristocrat from her latest Anthology Collection. It has a uniquely crafted fleur de lis charm. Born in Montreal, I couldn’t resist my own history. Check it out. You won’t be disappointed.Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Ready, Set, Go MomSpit
This is a shiny, new blog for us here at MomSpit HQ. I'm hoping this blogging task will set me free. I'm a prisoner to clean. After all, I'm one of the company founders but it often feels like all I do is laundry. Perhaps there's MomSpit detergent in my future in addition to the no-rinse cleanser in my purse. Stay tuned.
